The primary objective for this project was to increase the relevance of the Arabic Services to the audience through improving service delivery. The secondary objective was to bring the BBC Arabic Service closer to its audiences by providing them with compelling content and promoting advocacy.
We provided an exciting, easy to use and rewarding online panel community to conduct both quantitative and qualitative research – bringing together BBC Arabic viewers, listeners and website visitors in order to provide feedback from the Middle East and North African regions and beyond on BBC Arabic content.
By capturing and analysing the views of these visitors via structured surveys and forums, we allowed the BBC to understand what its Arabic speaking audience thinks about current events and content provided, in turn helping shape the future of the BBC Arabic programming. This useful data and approach also helped support the additional funding won by the BBC Arabic division.
